IMPORTANT AFTER SCHOOL INFORMATION

Kyle & Linda Chappell

Albania, is a former communist country (was officially declared to be Atheist).  Additionally, it is a Muslim country (about 70% of the people consider themselves Muslims). The country has been open to the Gospel for about 20 years now – there is a very young, first generation church taking root in Albania.

We serve primarily in two venues:

1. We are teachers at GDQ International Christian School which is located in the capital city of Tirana. As a school, we serve the missionary and international community in Albania by providing quality education for the children of those advancing the Lord’s kingdom as well as an educational outreach to other internationals, including some Albanian students.

2. We work in collaboration with the Roma (gypsy) church planters in Tirana. The Roma are aminority in Albania, who at present survive by begging, gathering materials to be recycled from the trash and by stealing. Kyle (who teaches Industrial Arts at GDQ) is helping to develop projects that the Roma men (and young boys) work on to learn some job skills and to eventually sell. Linda works with the outreach to kids with the Kids’ Club which provides a fun & safe environment for Roma boys & girls, which features games, crafts, snacks & Bible stories (These children are often on the street begging before coming to Kids’ club).

We serve with an organization called TeachBeyond which focuses on “transformational change through education.” The idea is effecting change through the power of the Gospel in educational settings (both formal and informal) - - in individuals and in communities.  (Further info available at: teachbeyond.org)

We were originally sent out by Grace Bible Church in Arroyo Grande, California which is still a supporting church of ours. Grace Bible Church is an Evangelical Free church.

CCDV MISSIONS TEAMS

In October, 2014, a family from our body was blessed to be able to go on a short term mission trip to Hermosillo Mexico.  The ministry accomplished there was facilitated by the Roenspie family (see their Bio below). We are pleased to be able to take another small team this year.  Our Mission team has nine members who are meeting monthly to pray and prepare for another short term trip this October.  We plan to be involved in outreaches in Hermosillo and the surrounding rural communities as well as visiting and supporting a children’s home.  Please keep our team in prayer and watch for our fundraisers if you feel led by The Holy Spirit to support our efforts to Love, Teach and Reach into Sonora, Mexico for Christ’s glory
